Favorites...

some of my favorite photos from Easter and this past weekend.

I also struggle a bit on holidays.  I grew up surrounded by family on birthdays and holidays - grandparents, aunts and uncles - lots of people squished in our tiny ranch.  But it's what I knew and so each holiday when it's just us, I struggle being a bit sad.  At least until I make up my mind that we are making memories and new traditions.  I was a bit blue Easter morning but after going to church at Willow, we came home to find that the Easter Bunny did a bang up job with a super fun egg scavenger hunt.  It started with an egg with a clue for Caleb in the family room and he and Nathan had to solve the clue to find the next egg.  There were lots of clues and eggs which finally led them to their baskets. The boys had such fun!!!!  Then we watched a movie while Caleb napped and when he got up, we headed to the downtown park.  It was such a great idea.  We all played and played and skipped stones and laughed and had a great time.  It was really a fun day!!!

If you look closely at the 2nd to last photo, you'll see that Caleb is wearing my heels....tee hee.... white socks and all.  That just had to be documented.  :)

LEARNING TO BE REAL

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. Ralph Waldo Emerson

2009 LIFE VERSE

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12: 1-3
